Scaled Guardian Figure Editions
Just as Simon's mermaid figures were successfully released as scaled editions, the same process is being employed to create extremely accurate scaled editions of the Guardian sculpture.
The original sculpture was laser scanned, and the scan data then manually refined to reflect the details of the full size figure and allow the creation of exact replicas in 1/3, 1/6 and 1/12 scale.
These figures are approximately 52", 26" and 13" tall respectively, including the bronze Roman column. The scan data is used to render new originals with Stereoscopic Lithography (STL) from photosensitive resin. Once rendered, Simon then hand sculpts the final details in to the new resin originals before the moulds are made at the foundry to begin the lost wax casting process.
The moulds are used to create the individual and unique waxes for each bronze sculpture, and are then destroyed when the edition is complete, ensuring the exclusivity of the art.
The figures offered are the same scales as the Mermaid editions, so the sizes will match for collectors who desire to purchase both and display them together.

Standard mount is a Travertine base that matches the base used for the Mermaid editions.
Larger, custom bases are available by special order and will be quoted to your specifications.
To reflect the importance of these editions, and maintain their exclusivity, the number of castings in each size has been kept very low.
Each piece carries a complex blue-green patina that reflects the millennia the Guardian has spent silently guarding the world's oceans. Each one is unique.
